Hiking & biking

Our walking and cycling friends will enjoy the 260 km of marked trails the Perigord offers, with many trails looping around villages (yellow markers) and connecting paths (green markers).

At La Chapelle Aubareil, 200m from the campsite of La Fage, are two marked loops of ten miles each. Information about other routes is available at the reception.

Guided evening walks are available every Thursday in July and August with a picnic (for more information, consult us)

Maps and guidebook are sold in the Montignac tourist office.

See the list of walks for Perigord Noir.

Quadbiking: 2 start points are available from St. Nathalène or Sarlat offering about 2 hours of motorized adventure on the tracks of the Périgord (in partnership with easy drive).

Canoeing on the Dordogne

Every Wednesday in July and August, the campsite offers (in partnership with Canoe Copeyre), a canoeing trip from Vitrac to Beynac.

Bus leaves the campsite at 9am – Back at 3pm.

Canoeing on the Vézère

For those who prefer canoeing on the Vézère, several services are also offered.

Fishing opportunities

Just 6 km from the campsite is the Vezere River (2nd category) or close to Coly, Grande Beune and its tributaries (first category), or it’s 12 kms to the body of water called  Fongran (1ha); you will have the opportunity to practice your hobby or favorite sport.

In Montignac, Pierre BOISSEUIL runs a hunting and fishing shop ( chasse et peche) on 21 rue July, and can give you lots of advice and information about fishing in the area as well as supply all your equipment.
