Our campsite Dordogne Périgord is located in the Black Périgord, among the 4 colors of the Périgord.

The Perigord is thus divided into four parts: White, green, purple and black.
This department is rich in historical and cultural heritage, and each color has its own meaning.

THE GREEN PERIGORD

The Green Perigord concerns the area with abundant vegetation. It is the country of the nontronnais, we find it in the north of the department.

THE WHITE PERIGORD

Le Blanc, owes its name to its chalky soil and its clear cliffs cut by the rivers in the center of the department, towards Périgueux.

THE RED PERIGORD

Red is the wine cradle of the Dordogne. There are also many bastides. It is located in the south west of the department in the Bergerac region.

THE BLACK PERIGORD

Finally, the Périgord Noir, comes above all from the dark leaves of the holm oaks of our beautiful region.
It is also in this part of the department that our campsite is located, close to a large number of prehistoric sites to visit, the most famous of which is the cave of Lascaux and classified villages.
The region is also synonymous with gastronomy, with its famous truffles, its foie gras, its nuts…
